As social beings, humans perpetually seek fulfillmet across various aspects of life. Embedded within this pursuit of fulfillment is an instrinsic desire. The musical album “Don’t Smile at Me” by Billie Eilish is considered as a literary work, consisting songs rich in diverse meaning. Released in August 2017, this mini-album consists of nine tracks. This study aims to analyze the desires expressed by Billie Eilish’s lyrics within the songs in the “Don’t Smile at Me” album. This study delves into the analysis of the desires intricately woven into Billie Eilish’s lyrics within the “Don’t Smile at Me” album. There are two primary objectives of this study : to understand the subject’s desire and the development of these desires in response to the subjectivity formed within the album’s lyrics. Using Jacques Lacan’s Psychoanalysis theory, the study investigates two primary desire types : analytic and narcissistic desires in order to address the first research question. Meanwhile, three stages consisting of The Imaginary, The Symbolic, and The Real are employed to address the second research question. Employing a qualitative descriptive methodology, the study yields a mosaic of data. This study uses qualitative descriptive method to represent information in the form of text or transcripts. The results of this study show that there are forty pieces of data indicating various types of desires found in the lyrics of the songs on the album “Don’t Smile at Me” and forty-nine data for the results of subjectivity forms in the lyrics of the songs on the album “Don’t Smile at Me”.
