Abstract
This study aims to inventory the food sources instead of rice consumed by people in Bangka regency, get an overview of possible development of the r substitute food sources in the future and overview of existing patterns of food consumption in Bangka regency. Research was conducted in November to December 2012. The results showed that the Bangka Regency Society staple food consumed in the form of rice, while rice substitute food sources are generally consumed by people in Bangka is rice better known as cassava or rice Aruk. Development of the rice substitute food sources in the future can be done with efforts dating: a) Dissemination and Promotion of Cassava Rice, b) Efforts to strengthen the capital and c) increase the productivity of the business of making cassava rice. Existing patterns of food consumption in Bangka can be seen based on the type of food that is dominated by food sources of carbohydrates 56.65% (650.42 Kg / Cap/yr), 34.14% protein (392.02 Kg/Cap/yr), source of vitamins and minerals 5.79% (66.47 Kg/ Cap/yr) and other food 3.4% (39.18 Kg/Cap/yr)
