Abstract
Every song has its uniqueness and variable background in the preparation of its lyrics. Therefore, this research aims to find out the language style used in the lyrics of Indo Black Magic songs and to find out the concept in the song lyrics through the use of language style. This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach where this research describes all the data. The theory used in this research is Geoffrey Leech's stylistic theory to analyze the use of language styles. They are the level of phonology, grammar, lexical and semantics. The results showed that there are four levels of language found in the lyrics of Indo Black Magic. First, the phonological level, the songwriter shows a harmonious sound pattern by using alliteration, assonance, consonance, and rhyme scheme including the selection of certain words. Second, at the grammatical level, the songwriter uses various lyrical structures such as phrase, clause, simple sentence, compound sentence complex sentence and tenses to make the lyrics more artistic and aesthetic. Third, the lexical level, the songwriter shows a clear and concrete picture through the use of dominant nouns, verbs, adjectives and pronouns in the lyrics. Finally, at the semantic level, the songwriter emphasizes aesthetics and implied meaning through the use of various figurative language, including simile, hyperbole, metaphor, anaphora, oxymoron, synecdoche, paradox, imagery, and satire. The lyrics of Indo Black Magic convey a message to emphasize to all women to radiate their own beauty, without seeing the beauty standards of other women with the use of particular style in song lyrics.
