Abstract
Film is not only an entertainment media that display fictional stories in it, but also has an understanding of the social difference and ideologies contained in it. Therefore, this research aims to identify hegemony in the form of ideology by applying Antonio Gramsci's theory. The object of research is a Netflix movie titled The School for Good and Evil by Paul Feig. The data is taken from the conversations of various characters in the movie, especially the main characters, Sophie and Agatha. This research uses descriptive qualitative methods in the form of coversations between characters in the movie. The result of the research are 30 data and two problem formulations. The first formulation explains the type of hegemony contained in the research, namely the ideology of facism. There are 5 elements of hegemony to explain the data about the ideology of fascism in the movie. The five elements are Polarities of Good and Evil, Hierarchy and Leadership, Physical Appearance, Ethics and Morality, and Role of Education. Furthermore, it is found that the two main characters agree or oppose the ideology. The conclusion of this study found that the movie The School for Good and Evil is a work of fiction that display a strong ideology of facism for saveral hundred years. However, this ideology is increasingly crumbling due to the resistance of hegemony with the arrival of Sophie and Agatha, where they change the ugliness and chaos that occurs within the school, from the students, teachers, and the system between good and evil.
