Abstract

Area resource data and potential development of a commodity are needed to givea clear overview of the commodity's potential development. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct a research about the potency of planting "lengkeng” in low land plant in Bang island. The objectives of the research are to get: (1) Growth requirement data and supporting factors of planting "lengkeng” in Bangka island, (2) Planting techniques and planting treatments which is suitable with Bangka island condition, (3) Technology information to prevent same problems of planting "lengkeng” in Bangka island. The result shows that growth requirement and supporting factors of planting "lengkeng" in Bangka’s are relatively similar to the ones in Singkawang. Unfortunately, the planting techniques and plant treatments which are implemented in Bangka island are not totally effective as implemented in Singkawang. There is still needs technology to prevent plantation problems occurred when planting "lengkeng in Bangka, especially related to the pollination and fruit loss.
