Abstract

Mining activities have the potential to cause metals in the base to rise to the surface of the ground. The situation causes poisoning of plants or living things that exist. This study aims to determine the effect of administration Pb on sorghum growth and to determine the tolerance limits for sorghum growth in post tin mining sand. This study used a single randomized design with 5 levels of treatment that was repeated 3 times. Provision of Tailings Pb, Topsoil (without metals) concentration, Pb 50 ppm, Pb 75 ppm, Pb 100 ppm. The results showed that the higher of Pb, the lower the sorghum growth seen from the response of the growth of the number of leaves, plant height and stem diameter and the concentration of 100 ppm Pb greatly gave the effect of the growth tolerance of sorghum plants.
